A claim. Now what?
WE ARE HERE FOR YOU

Naturally, we support our customers in the event of a claim, especially in qualified communication with the insurer. They can help us to enforce our common position in dealings with the risk carrier. Here is a list of important points to consider.

THAT REALLY HELPS US.

  • How you can support us when a loss has occurred.
  • Take pictures. Everyone has a mobile phone with them.
  • Keep track of who has been harmed and by whom. Name, contact details of both parties.
  • What can you do to minimize the damage?
  • Cost estimate, better yet, an estimate, if necessary, an expert opinion
  • Inform authorities or administration. Request confirmation.

DO’S AND DON’TS

To ensure that you do not jeopardise your insurance cover, obligations often apply. These are conditions that must be fulfilled for the insurance to take effect and for you to be entitled to the insurance benefit. They can be found in the contract documents. Examples are

  • when you leave the house, be sure to lock the door and make sure that no windows are “on tilt” or the washing machine is running.
  • Do not drive under the influence of alcohol and do not leave the scene of the accident before the accident has been recorded.
  • Turn off the water and drain the outside water pipes if it freezes.
  • Heat the house/flat sufficiently during the winter period, especially when you are travelling.
  • Observe official safety regulations.
    And much more

This list could be extended. The key points listed above are only examples and do not claim to be complete. If you are unsure about the requirements of your contract, please ask us.

LIFE HACKS – BEFORE THE LOSS EVENT

  • Save the hotline number of your car insurance and/or car insurance certificate in your mobile phone.
  • If you are going on holiday, save the emergency number for international travel health insurance with international prefix in your mobile phone.
  • Write a note with the hotline number of the household protection letter in case you lose your keys and stick it with tape into the inside of your mailbox. This way it is hidden and you have it at hand in case you are locked out.
