The Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region with its 2.4 million inhabitants is one of the leading business locations in Germany. The region scores points with its innovative dynamism, excellent knowledge landscape, lively cultural scene, attractive living and shopping opportunities, its intact and impressive nature and its pronounced civic involvement. Global players such as BASF, SAP, Bilfinger and Fuchs-Petrolub are just as at home here as medium-sized companies and numerous start-ups. Rhine-Neckar is a hot-spot of the start-up scene – there are over a dozen business incubators in the greater Heidelberg, Mannheim and Ludwigshafen area alone.
